Warforged

Originally created for servitude by the Etharian Empire, the warforged are sentient, living constructs forged from iron and powered by spiritual energy. After enduring the Age of Darkness, the warforged founded their own nation of Emecha on the edge of what is now the Ethereal Wastes, where they have become a developed and industrious people.

Racial Traits

<php>echo “Living Construct:”;</php> Warforged are treated as humanoids with the construct subtype. As a living construct, warforged have the following traits:
- Does not need to eat, sleep, or breathe, but can still benefit from the effect of consumables.
- Immunity to poison, sleep, paralysis, disease, nausea, fatigue, exhaustion, sickness, and energy drain.
- Can be affected by spells that target living creatures as well as constructs, and receives half of the normal effect from spells and abilities that restore hit points.
- Cannot heal damage naturally.
- Does not bleed when at negative hit points.

<php>echo “Speed:”;</php> Warforged base speed is 30 feet.
<php>echo “Iron Fist:”;</php> A warforged has a natural slam attack that deals 1d4 damage.
<php>echo “Light Fortification:”;</php> When a critical hit or sneak attack is scored on a warforged, there is a 25% chance that it is negated and damage is instead rolled normally.
<php>echo “Model Type:”;</php> Each warforged has one of the following model types, granting them all the features of the selected type. Warforged can choose from the following:
- <php>echo “Constructor:”;</php> Warforged of this type have built-in armor plating that provides a +3 armor bonus, has a +6 maximum Dexterity bonus to AC, and a 15% arcane spell failure chance, and no armor check penalty. This plating is treated as a suit of light armor. In addition, the warforged a +2 racial bonus on Athletics checks.
- <php>echo “Defender:”;</php> Warforged of this type have builtin armor plating that provides a +9 armor bonus, has a +1 maximum Dexterity bonus to AC, a 35% arcane spell failure chance, a -5 armor check penalty, and reduces the warforged’s speed to 20 ft. This plating is treated as a suit of heavy armor. In addition, the warforged gains a +2 racial bonus on Intimidate checks.
- <php>echo “Servitor:”;</php> Warforged of this type have a thin coat of plating, granting them a +1 natural armor bonus. In addition, the warforged gains a +2 racial bonus on his choice of either Arcana, History, Nature, or Religion checks.
- <php>echo “Vanguard:”;</php> Warforged of this type have builtin armor plating that provides a +6 armor bonus, has a +3 maximum Dexterity bonus to AC, a 25% arcane spell failure chance, a -3 armor check penalty, and reduces the warforged’s speed to 25 ft. This plating is treated as a suit of medium armor. In addition, the warforged gains a +2 racial bonus on Perception checks.
