Hero points are gained either concurrently or in lieu of experience points and are used by the players to buy upgrades and bonuses for their characters.

Extra feats may be purchased for 2000 hero points and 1000 gold. Subsequent feats cost additional 1000 hero points and 500 gold per feat purchased. Each feat takes one week to train under the tutelage of a trainer with that feat.

Ranks in a skill may be purchased for 100 hero points and 50 gold. Additional ranks cost 100 more hero points and 50 more gold. Each rank takes one day to train under the tutelage of a trainer with more ranks in the skill being trained.

For 3000 hero points a character may purchase the ability to add a d6 to any die roll once per day. Additional uses may be purchased for 3000 hero points. Multiple uses of heroic surge may be used on the same die roll.
